Work through the likely causes below. If a fix doesn't hold, contact technical support, file an RMA request, or check for firmware updates.

Connector inspection illustration
No camera feed at all
Likely cause: a loose or disconnected harness connector.
Fix: reseat the connector at both the controller and the camera pigtail, confirming it clicks fully home.
No camera feed, but the controller is powered
Likely cause: a blown fuse or tripped breaker on the camera circuit.
Fix: check the dedicated fuse/breaker and replace or reset it per spec.
One camera intermittent, others fine
Likely cause: a chafed or pinched cable.
Fix: inspect the full cable run for pinch points near moving parts (boom, blade, articulation joint, ripper) and replace damaged sections rather than taping over them.
All cameras intermittent together
Likely cause: low system voltage.
Fix: check battery/alternator output is within spec before assuming a hardware fault on any individual camera.
Feed present but frozen or lagging
Likely cause: a loose data connector, or a firmware issue.
Fix: reseat the data connector; if the problem persists, check the installed firmware version against the latest release on the Downloads page. Go to Downloads →
A blind spot appears that the plan didn't predict
Likely cause: the camera was mounted off the planned point, or its aim has drifted.
Fix: check the physical mount position and angle against the planned point, and confirm the bracket is fully torqued — aim can drift over time if hardware backs out.
The blind spot is specifically at the tail-swing or articulation zone
This is a known tight zone on excavators (tail swing) and wheel loaders/articulated trucks (the joint).
Fix: add a supplemental camera at the point flagged in that machine's install guide.
The feed shows a dirty or obstructed view
Likely cause: the lens is fouled by mud, dust, or debris.
Fix: clean the lens, and consider relocating the camera if the mounting point sits in a routine spray or mud path.
Coverage looked fine at install but shows red months later
Likely cause: vibration has shifted the mount over time.
Fix: re-torque the bracket, re-aim using the Camera Placement Tool as reference, and log the correction. Open Camera Placement Tool →
FAQ
What's the field of view on a Dozer camera?
120°.
How many cameras does a typical install need?
It varies by equipment size and shape — use the reference chart and Camera Placement Tool to confirm the count for your specific machine.
Can a camera be repositioned after install?
Yes. Unmount it, replan the position in the tool, and remount — there’s no calibration step tied to a specific physical point.
What do I do if I can't eliminate a blind spot no matter where I place cameras?
Log it and flag it to support. Some equipment shapes have a gap that isn’t solvable with more hardware and gets handled procedurally instead.
Where do I get replacement hardware?
See Parts Ordering.
What's the warranty on Dozer hardware?
See the RMA / Warranty Process page.
